Lozengy Blanket

I have been working on this project for a long time. Months, really, but I cannot remember when I started it. It is based on Shelly Kang's sock yarn blankie, as seen at The Heathen Housewife.
(Cat included for scale)
The yarn is Caron Simply Soft in dark blue, black, heather grey, and iris. I have finished about another row and a half since I took this picture, but as you can see it is still very far from done.
This is the project I started after the Sanity Shawl was finished, because I have realized that having one, long-term, mindless knitting project is good for me. I do not have to think about what to do next, because after 116 little squares (out of 508), I pretty well have the pattern memorized. It just goes on and on forever. I find that comforting, for some reason. Unfortunately, I am about to have to buy more yarn.
Anyway, I've been so remiss in posting the last week and half because I have had not one, but two variants of plague. Today my fever is down from yesterday, but it is not gone yet. We shall see what all gets done today.
